The “Radio Focus” program is a rehabilitative-educational program that has been operating in the service of prisons since 2016. It is an innovative project, created by a civil initiative, in which the voices heard on the radio are the voices of the prisoners broadcasting from Ayalon prison.<\/span><\/p>

The prisoners participating in the program undergo academic training to work in the radio professions and upon completion of the course they know how to edit content, edit music, produce, broadcast and interview.<\/u><\/span><\/p>

The radio is broadcasting to all criminal prisoners through closed circuit television receivers, 24 hours 7 days a week.<\/span><\/p>

“Radio Focus” focuses on the activity of prisoners for prisoners, whose strength is in creating identification. The radio broadcasts combine rehabilitative messages alongside content of enrichment, culture and leisure.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Since the establishment of the radio, dozens of prisoners have been trained in it, most of whom are today integrated into ongoing treatment and rehabilitation programs in the various prisons.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

“<\/span>Radio Focus” makes the rehabilitative work in the prison accessible to the community, and since its inception hundreds of people from the media, therapy, education, culture and more have visited the radio.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When Tamar Alkobi finished her national service, she decided not to go on a trip around the world, as is customary among her peers, but to participate in a volunteer project in Africa. It was supposed to last only three months, but took an unexpected turn when Alkobi developed a non-profit social enterprise that allows the purchase of jewelry made by women from slums in Uganda.<\/p>
